FIT provides high-quality tools and support services to members to enhance their existing ministries and to provide networking and contacts for effective implementation of critical life skills. Our members, all volunteers, receive training, recognition, and free materials as funds permit. They also receive assistance in finding places of ministry as well as expanding those ministries. Members receive a monthly eNewsletter to keep them abreast of happenings within the organization. Member1ship begins by taking the one-day Leader Training Course. Go to our Leader Training site to see times and places and register. If there are none there that meet your needs, call the office at 941.799.4975 to see if other arrangements can be made.
The cost of FIT membership is $35 per calendar year after the first year. The $45 regular training fee (or $35 if paid at least five days before the date of the training session) entitles those completing course to membership privileges. This includes free books for FIT-approved classes and custom-made graduation certificates for each graduate in each class. This is highly labor-intensive and donations are welcome. Putting high quality materials into the hands of our volunteers is one of our greatest missions.
Membership is the basis for distributing FIT resources and ensuring our donors that their money is being most efficiently used. A chaplain or third party may request materials or FIT certificates from our website as in the past, but the actual persons facilitating the class must be members who have completed the one-day leader training course.
We encourage those whose training was a few years ago or more to take
advantage of a refresher course to bring them up to date with all of the things that have happened since their training session. There is no charge for the refresher course other than having the dues current.
