THE NEED  [Top]

All of us have suffered loss and grief to one extent or another.  Unfortunately, this is a grossly overlooked area with huge consequences .  Losses can be a mate, freedom, death, a career, or any other important area or person in our life.  It is an area where denial and delusion are very common with very damaging consequences.  Non adjustment may go on for a lifetime and seriously hinder a person from becoming all he or she could be.  This is one of the greatest overlooked  personal areas because of our failure to recognize that we may not as much in control as we thought we were.

OUR ANSWER  [Top]

Human beings are social creatures.  They need to know they are not alone and that others share the same types of pain.  The give and take of the small group discussion is very helpful in identifying those areas hidden to us that need to be worked on.  Group members gain confidence when they see that they are not alone in their struggles.  They help each other see new ways of discovery and coping.

By placing this unit in our curriculum, we address a vital area that might otherwise be overlooked.  Through discovery, group members will come to appreciate the insights and healing that come from addressing areas that are so easily pushed into the background and denied.

OUR APPROACH  [Top]

All of our units emphasize the rich interaction of the small-group format.   The answers group members need to have will come mostly from each other .  Having group members talk a lot is the fastest way to getting into their hearts and minds.  Once group members level with one another, they help each other in a safe environment.

The structured lessons usually have two leaders called facilitators and co-facilitators.  It is their job to keep the discussion going and on track. The training of these leaders is one of the key activities of Florida Integrity Training.  Our training sessions show the art and science of being effective in this area.  For more information on our training .
