My goal is to have the FIT 100 hr. curriculum that Dr. Don Pratt developed placed in all Florida prisons as soon as possible. Dr. Pratt, our prison training coordinator, will train our instructors to accomplish this. We are currently looking for men to train who will take this teaching into the prisons. We would also like to train our men who already go into our prisons and hold services.TOP

I am thoroughly convinced that what we are attempting to do cannot fail.  We are not simply seeking to maintain a program.  We are offering proven, life-changing teaching and interaction based on practical applications from God’s Word, the Bible.  We wholeheartedly believe in the power of God's Word to transform lives.  We work with instructors that believe the same.  It is our passion, our mission, our purpose, to teach a way of life that truly adds purpose and real meaning to every aspect of life.  Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."  {John 10:10}  This truth is at the core of all we do and makes us all excited that we have something substantial that will help others to be successful and productive citizens as well ashy desire is to help hurting people to be successful through faith. This is highly personal, since my own journey has led me through many miseries that are changing into ministries. My passion is helping others to become "free on the inside" and responsible and happy family members. I have a special interest in discipling men to be good and godly husbands. I have been led to minister in the prisons, at biker meets, and in marriage building. finding personal fulfillment in their faith. TOP

We are not interested in reinventing the wheel.  Most of the materials used in our program have been successfully used in both churches and prisons for years.  What we want to do is to train prison workers how to most effectively use these tools to really make a difference.  It is a big project but doable if we all work together.  After training, a 4 to 12-week commitment of teaching prisoners once a week is all we ask for.  The choice is then yours as to whether to recommit yourself and when. TOP

Two years ago, the direction of my life changed completely. Since 2001 I had been preparing to teach special needs in the elementary education field, but a freak accident delayed these plans. The big change came in 2004when I began working with homeless men which led to prison work and men in crisis. He so gently led me to the Lighthouse Rescue Mission and on to the Polk Correctional Institution (State Prison). What a journey I am traveling! I feel so honored to be involved in the 100 hour curriculum. TOP

I have a passion for the elderly and minister in many facilities.  It took some time before I entered into jail and prison ministry in 1999. Now I minister in the Hernando County Jail and in state and federal facilities.  I am blessed to be a part of the 100 hour curriculum. TOP

My vision is to see women free of issues that have held them back from accomplishing what God's purpose is for them.  Through God's Word, His help, and our hands extended, they will be set free.  The 100-hour curriculum is an excellent tool to provide Bible-based, Christ-centered guidance for life skills as well as a thorough understanding of how to apply the principles of God's Word to their everyday life.  It is exciting to see the transformation in the lives of women whose lives are being changed through their development in God's Word. TOP

Rev. Helen R. Campbell is the Adult Ministry Director, Assemblies of God Peninsular, Florida.  She graduated from Eckerd College with a BA in Business and is a graduate of University of Virginia's Darden Executive Education Program.  Her husband of 44 years is Mike Campbell with 2 sons and 8 grandchildren.  Thirty years in business as an executive in a large corporation as a training director allowed her to see many people develop and grow into their full potential.  After retiring from business, she became the principal of a Christian school for 4 years, again allowing her to impact lives of elementary children in their learning experience.

Her service of thirty years as part of the volunteer leadership and later as pastoral staff member at Bethel Temple, Tampa, Florida, provided opportunity for teaching Sunday school for 29 of those years, as well as development and teaching of the Lay Leadership Volunteer Training program for 3 years.  In addition she and her husband worked with middle-school and youth programs, many of whom are now in full-time ministry.  Bringing this experience and knowledge into her work with mature and aging adults of Florida, she is now the director of Adult Ministries for Peninsular Assemblies of God.  In this capacity she oversees state-wide events that bring these adults together for growth, inspiration, and fellowship.  Her passion in working with mature adults is to provide encouragement and inspiration to pass on to those following behind, a spiritual heritage and legacy that will enable them to be successful in their spiritual growth and move forward, surpassing efforts of past generations.

Prison ministry has opened up through involvement with Kairos Prison Ministry in Hillsborough Correctional Institute in Riverview and at the Federal Women's Work Camp at Coleman.   This now has expanded to weekly mentoring with several of the women at Hillsborough Correctional Institute and teaching numerous classes to include beginning the 100-hour curriculum.  Hillsborough Correctional Institute is the only total Faith-Based Prison in the nation.  She is also involved teaching the 100-hour curriculum at the Polk County Jail in the Faith-Based dorms. It is exciting  watching the transformation of women who had never understood the Word of God, now experiencing God's love and sharing this love to others.
