INTRODUCTION  TOP

We are sometimes asked if there are any units which could be substituted in the 100 Hour Curriculum or if we can recommend supplementary materials.  Perhaps ministry leaders have already spent a lot of time on anger management, for example, and feel that exploring another area of social interaction, like Peacemaking, would benefit their clients even more.  We have compiled two lists of materials (see below) that address these needs.  Most of them are available from us.  The first list is a compilation of other topics which are formated for small groups consistent with the 100 Hour Curriculum.  The second shows useful resource books. Unless otherwise noted, all materials can be ordered from us [Top]

CONCERNED PERSONS - Because We Need Each Other  [Back][Top]

This is a group for loved-ones of a person held in the grips of a life-controlling problem.  Not only does such a person need support from others and knowledge as to how to cope, he/she also needs to understand how to be kept from coming into bondage oneself when helping the struggling person and making the problem worse.  Unintentionally, the helper may “enable” the bad behavior and become “codependent” himself/herself. 9 Sessions.

GODLY PARENTING – Parenting Skills at Each Stage of Growth   [Back] [Top]

Ever wanted to go to a class that will teach you every thing you ever needed to know about raising children the right way at every stage of their life? Godly Parenting won’t quite do all that but it certainly will help you focus in on the most important things.  Many parents are totally taken off guard by the changes their children go through as they go through their “stages”, whether it be “terrible twos” or young adult.  As the children mature, parents should expect these changes, and be ready as they approach the next stage.  This study covers every single stage and is equally important for parents with young or older children.  Grandparents can also benefit by combining their accumulated wisdom with the understanding of changes throughout the life span that this study provides. 13 Sessions.

SEEING YOURSELF IN GOD’S IMAGE – Overcoming Anorexia and Bulimia (and Overeating) [Back][Top]

An idol is something that receives more attention from us that God does. Our health, appearance, reputation can interfere with our obeying the first of the ten commandments – to have “no other gods before me”.  As Christians we certainly desire to have our priorities straight so that we may please our God to the greatest degree possible.

Besides doctors, medication, and therapists, we need spiritual help and understanding to break the cycles that bind us and to truly set us free.  The real things driving us – our past, our failures, our disappointments – need to be understood better and put into subjection and the covering of God.  Our “Christ-esteem” needs to be high so that our “self-esteem” will reflect His image. 13 Sessions.

THE SINGLE CHRISTIAN – Living as one in a world of twos  [Back][Top]

Single Christians are an isolated and underserved group in the Church.  They are a diverse group with unique problems.  Often they are forced to face many difficult situations alone, such as in areas of single parenting, adjusting to loss, ex-es, poverty, and gaining positive identity and purpose in
Christ.  There also dating and courting issues.  Many of them don’t want to be single and need guidance in accepting singleness and in preparing themselves for a life of service and dedication to their Lord.

UNDERSTANDING DEPRESSION – Overcoming Depression through Christ [Back][Top]

Depression is an area where many seek help but only find much confusion.  Medical practitioners may totally ignore spiritual implications or well-meaning Christians may deny the situational or chemical bases which require the intervention of medication or support groups.  Then, too, there is the constant folk lore passed off as fact by many who don’t really know what they are talking about.  There can be widely different views expressed among counselors, including Christian ones.  This course, not a substitute for medicine or professional counseling, focuses on the spiritual dimension of treating depression.  It will help anyone to do the overcoming with Christ we need to do as we go through this life. 9 Weeks.  Price and Order Form
